Hello,
I am new to germany. Just started working in Ampfing Germany and live in Muhldorf. It is about 75 km west of Munchen and very close to the Austrian border. I am trying to find a place to do some shredding where I can rent a board, relatively cheaply with boots, etc. All of my gear is in Wisconsin USA and can't get it out here. Where are the closest places to go boarding near Muhldorf??? Do they have websites with prices and rental information?? I have been itching to get out boarding this year, and don't have many opportunities since I am working like a slave for an oil company! Please let me know of any good spots in the area. I would prefer the closer the better!!
Danke schoen!
Ted
Hey Ted !
Too bad all your gear is in the states cause thers def good places to shred around here !
Thers weekend Bus Trips going from Munich to Austria from 40 to 60 euros including pass and for the higher priced trips including breakfast and lunch.
You can rent gear directly and the mountain or at most of the local sports shops around you or in munich. thers a good place in munich (not sure if they have gear for rent) its called skimax.
Some good places to go to right across the border are Westendorf, Schladming, Zilltertal and some more. If you wanna go out further head to Kaprun thers the Kitzsteinhorn its an awsome place to shred even in natural halfpipes !
If you want some more info shoot me a pm and well chat over the phone if u want. Im down in Munich only till this weekend but hit me up !

Hey guys... I'm new in Germany and my gear is also at my home countryI'm living in Bochum now, and wonder which are the nearest ski resorts to have fun with a snowboard
found one at 120km of Bochum called Willingen-Upland. Does it worth the ride? :P In Portugal, I have to do 300/400km to go to places not that good... :S What do you think? thanks.
Hi ndias. Willingen is a really small ski resort with few slopes. I've been there once and really didnt like it at all. For a good shred i think you need to go to the alps but thats also quite far away. Willingen might be okay for a day but it's not worth it to stay any longer.
The snowconditions might be really bad as well in the moment. You can get some information here: Skigebiet Willingen: Skiurlaub Willingen - Winterurlaub Willingen hope you can understand it
p.s: have a look at the webcam

Hum, i think u're right. Doesn't worth the driving there...almost no snow and the snow that is there is really bad, at least it seems... gotta choose another place.
Is any place nice (doesn't need to be like Alps) to go that is not far? Thanks.
There's also the possibility of going indoor snowboarding in Neuss or Bottrop. Google says that it's both about an hour away from bochum![]()
checked that toothere's a similar in Madrid (went last August there) but it doenst worth too, too small
for park fans maybe is interesting... for me it's more about POW POW

Better go to Neuss because the reviews about Bottrop aren't so good at all... Bad snow conditions and one of those "magic carpets" instead of a chairlift...
